HISTORY OF EDITING

In terms of editing, the first motion cameras where it is invented in the 1890’s. The Lumiere Brothers started of editing in 1895. They invented cinematographe, it was a machine that was recorded captured and shown as a motion picture. The work they produced only consisted of one long part of a film a continuous shot. In the year 1901 Edwin S. Porter came along and then showed use that it didn’t have to be very long clips. He started to experiment by then putting different parts of a film all together. The film then becomes several minutes long as it then contains many different shots. The first ever film studios were created in 1897 and this then slowly became successful as many other people started to use it. The first ever major cinema that shows films was “The Nickelodeon” in Pittsburgh in 1905. Five years later all of the actors then start to get credit after what they have done inside of the films. In general, when it comes to film editing it helps to establish continuity that involves action when it moves from one sequence to the another.

For editing there are 3 different types of editing. The first type of editing is called Continuity editing

CIC  CIC means a community interest company is a limited company which exists to help benefit a community or a view with an actual social purpose towards it rather than just to make money for the shareholders. CIC is registered with Companies House but it is the CIC Regulator who then decides whether an organisation passses tthe community interest test. CIC's can either be private limited company that involves lots of shares or it can be a public limited company that is guarenteed by a private limited company. There are many benefits and drawbakcs for a CIC company.
